Ethan and his sister had always got along well, perhaps even more so since their dad walked out on them. The two of them spent their youth playing D&D together and bonding over whatever Marvel movie came out. Recently though, it felt like their bond was slowly falling apart as both became increasingly busy with school and work. He felt like had barely seen his sister lately.
And so, his last thoughts were on his older sister.
A voice in his unconscious mind echoed, “ETHAN SUMMERS, WHEN YOU AWAKE YOU WILL ATTAIN A NEW UNDERSTANDING OF YOUR SISTER, EMILY SUMMERS.”
“The fuck? What are you talking about, what the hell is happening to me?! What does any of this have to do with my sister?” Ethan asked as if he expected the voice in his subconscious to answer.
Surprisingly the voice did reply. “SILENCE HUMAN. YOU WERE THE FOOL WHO DECIDED TO WEAR THE RING UPON THY FINGER, DESPITE MY WARNING. NOW SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES!”
Ethan screamed as yet another surge of pain shot through his body and mind, blinding him to all his senses. All of a sudden, his eyes flipped open and the pain had vanished. Yet...something felt off.
