The sooner Jack could get back to normal, the better. That was the first thought that crept into his mind, and sadly, his most trustworthy associates, Jasmine and Quincy, were in different annexes of the office. Getting to them would take much longer and would involve running out in the open, where Jack might be mistaken for a bug or otherwise be accidentally stepped on. Though Brenna's office was relatively close to Jack's desk, Jack did not want his boss finding out about this little accident in fear of what she would do. The other option, which was actually closer than Brenna's office, was the receptionist's desk. Even from his position down on the ground, Jack could see Lily from her position. She was going back and forth between scrolling on her phone and attending to her computer for her actual work. Jack sighed. She wasn't exactly the most ideal option he had in mind, but he hardly believed that she would be the worst. Though the two weren't too closely associated, Lily was better than nothing. Jack surveyed his surroundings one final time to make sure that no one would impede on his dash to the desk. Confirming that the coast was clear, Jack made his sprint and with ease made it behind the receptionist's desk.
Now in the safety of the receptionist's nook, Jack walked underneath the desk and relaxed a little bit. Lily certainly couldn't see him from where he was, so there was unlikely to be a misunderstanding right away. As he walked closer to the dangling legs of the 22-year-old, Jack noticed that her bag was right next to her. "You know, I could probably just hop in there and catch a lift up to her," he thought. "She'll probably be digging in that bag all day with all her makeup and shit." Just as that thought came to mind, Lily inattentively reached down into the bag while her eyes were still on her phone. She plucked up a snack and popped it into her mouth, slowly chewing. "Well, maybe that wouldn't be such a good idea. I'm not really in the mood to become an accidental snack," Jack chuckled. Now rethinking his approach, Jack thought that the best option would be to climb up Lily's person. Considering her chair was just like his, there weren't any legs that he would have been able to climb, making Lily the only possibility. He approached her feet. That day, Lily was wearing slip-on shoes. She had one of her feet slowly kicking up and down in the air, the heel of the shoe loosely falling and swaying with her motions. Her other foot was firmly on the ground, a much more viable option for Jack to climb. And so it was. Jack went for the table foot and started to climb.
The trek was relatively easy. Jack made it up onto Lily's knee without an issue, her soft skin being cushy enough to climb with easily. As Jack climbed onto Lily's thigh, he noticed her black skirt was peeled back a little with her sitting position. With the 22-year-old's skirt being peeled back like it was, that gave Jack two options. He could either climb under Lily's skirt and try to get up to her head within her clothing or climb up the outside. While going under Lily's skirt would hide Jack from view, meaning he could avoid getting spotted until he really wanted to, the sensitivity of it all could be dangerous. One slip up could lead to a very awkward interaction. On the other hand, it would likely be easier to climb on the outside of the receptionist's skirt and climb up her shirt from there. Though, it ran the risk of being spotted early and created the opportunity to be mistaken for something else before having the opportunity to clarify that he was a person.
Ultimately, what does Jack decide to do?
