Suddenly, Izuku chokes on his fire, falling to his knees as he coughs up the embers.
Bakugo bursts out laughing at Izuku’s expense,
“Wow you can’t even use your own quirk right stupid Deku,” mocked Bakugo.
Struggling to respond, Izuku reaches out to his so-called ‘friend’ Bakugo, at which point he slaps his hand away.
“Don’t touch me Deku, I don’t want your weakness rubbing off on me!”, he snaps.
With this, Bakugo aggressively kicks a clump of dirt straight at Deku’s face and walks off proudly. As Deku wipes the dirt from his face, heavy tears begin to stream. From this point onwards Deku gets ruthlessly bullied by Bakugo and his lackeys all the way through middle school.
Cut to the morning of the last day of school at Aldera Junior High.
We see a fourteen-year-old Deku sleeping soundly in his bed while his alarm clock is going off. The alarm clock in question has been going on for at least ten minutes, but he is a heavy sleeper and it didn’t wake him up.
Inko bursts into his room and yells:
“Izuku wake up, you’ll be late again, I don’t want you getting detention on the last day of school.”
Izuku jumps up out of bed sleepily.
“Sorry mom I didn’t hear my alarm clock, I’ll get ready now.” Deku replies while rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.
“Quickly get dressed and come eat breakfast, I’d rather you be late than go to school on an empty stomach.” Inko says contradicting her previous outburst.
Inko leaves Deku’s room letting him get ready for school. Five minutes later, Deku emerges from his room wearing: his school uniform, a yellow backpack and bright, red shoes.
Frantically rushing, Deku stumbles down the stairs and enters the kitchen,
where Inko is sat at the table consuming eggs and bacon.
“Honey come sit down and eat”. Inko advised motherly.
“Sorry mum, got to go.” He says whilst stealing a piece of toast from a plate as he dashes towards the door.
