Chapter #5
Friend or Foe
by: Wanderlust
"Might you have something to give me dear girl, a bauble perhaps," the long toothed peasant sneered his words through the uneven teeth that lined his mouth while his eyes bored holes in her chest.
Dauphin clenched the hidden knife tighter, her sweat making the blackened handle too slippery for a killing grip. She kept her eyes on the yellowed teethed jackal standing before her. Her found warrior, (she decided that the thrown horse excuse didn't jive) was quietly creeping up behind her new vermin friend.
Warrior man had lifted a boulder and was about to smash it on the head of their foe when the louse fell to the ground.
"You killed him?" Dauphin asked puzzled.
"Not exactly, you see I just 'hit' him and he thinks he's dead," Warrior explained patiently although the boulder was still in his hands and the pig robber lay prostrate but clean as a whistle.
Dauphin eyed the stranger she'd helped onto her steed. "How?"
Warrior guy disarmingly asked, "I thought you might ask who (am I) first?"
