Friend or Foe?

After a harrowing journey, where Kevin was bumped and bruised inside the backpack, a crack of light appeared as the pack was unzipped. Kevin was then unceremoniously lifted by one leg and dumped into a large aquarium.

"You can play with him later," said the boy. "Anyway, Mom would kill us if she saw we brought home another pet."

Those words left an unpleasant chill on Kevin's slimy skin. H e suddenly realized he was not alone. A pair of glowing, yellow eyes peered out at him from some artificial shrubbery.
