Chapter #8

Twists and Turns

    by: Unknown
You enter the door on the left. You emerge into a fairly nondescript hallway. The walls are stone and lined with torches. You tear off one of the torches and hold it in your hand as you make your way down the hallway.
It's a tight squeeze -- the corridor is not much wider than you are, wide enough to turn around, but not wide enough to fight in. The path extends forward for what seems like forever. You walk and walk, eyes adjusting to the dim glow of the torches, wondering when your first opponent will choose to strike. You find yourself growing tense, anticipating a surprise attack... but it doesn't come. You continue down the hallway, growing used to the path, when you almost bump into a wall that appears before you. Your breasts graze the wall, nipple sliding along the stone, and you shiver. You look left and right -- there are paths extending from either side of the wall. You're almost thankful for this change of scenery.
After a few moments of deliberation you turn right and make your way to another hallway. It's not much different from the previous hallway. You sigh. You're somewhat confused by your current emotional state: you're in a strange twilight between excitement and boredom -- dissatisfaction with the monotony of the maze intermingled with a growing anticipation of a good fight.
You continue walking.
You can feel dust dropping from the ceiling overhead. You have no idea how old this place is, but it must be ancient, like some kind of temple built ages ago. You feel that peculiar anticipation growing inside of you again -- could it be fear? You almost laugh at the notion and push the thought from your head. You smile. You will emerge victorious, no matter how long it takes.
As you think about this, you find yourself at another wall. Again, you see paths extending left and right. You choose left this time and find yourself at a slightly different hallway. As you step into the hallway, you hear something sliding behind you. You swing around to see that a wall is sliding into place behind you, cutting off your path of retreat. You now have no choice but to go forward. You curse to yourself and continue on your way.
After what feels like hours of walking, you come to a large threshold. Beyond the threshold is a square room. An ornate rug lies at the center of the room; on either side of the rug is a chipped, blue circle, carved out of stone. "Well, this is new," you say aloud. You don't see any other doors in the room -- only the threshold. Maybe you have to find a way to open an exit?
You instinctively step onto one of the blue circles, and immediately you feel it sink beneath your weight. "Uh oh," you say, hearing a loud grinding noise coming from somewhere in the Labyrinth. The door must be opening!
But it doesn't open. Instead, the wall on the other side of the room suddenly slides open, revealing a small alcove. Within the alcove is a huge, golden sword, set into the wall with a metal fixture. "Oh shit!" you yell, and without thinking you race toward the weapon...

...Only to fall through the rug in the center of the floor. You plunge into darkness, eyes wide with fear.
It's quiet... too quiet...
Your head is swimming. You were unconscious, but for how long? And where are you?

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. Trap Room #1

2. The Ice Chamber

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
