Despite being raised by the Mushroom Kingdom, you hated everything about it. It's army was incompetent and Bowser's army were far superior, which is sad since they countlessly lost to two Italian plumbers. However, it fitted their princess who did little more than put on a deceptively kind and powerful face. It was hard to believe that she was strong considering the woman couldn't last a month without being kidnapped and it was hard to believe her kindness after not giving a proper gift of money or much else to her Italian heroes at any of the times they saved her. She was absolutely useless and therefore crime was not uncommon in the Kingdom despite its sweet look.
Bowser may be stubborn, spoilt and childish, but he knew his goals. He was strict and harsh to his people, making sure to keep them all in line with fear, but at the same time ensuring that they still feel loyalty to him. His army always beat the Princess', they just needed training in how to take down the two plumbers and anyone else that could thwart the King's plans. The King's love for the Princess who refuses to call herself the queen was odd considering they have never had a proper conversation before, but if it gives him more reason to invade then it shouldn't cause too much harm to his rule.
You were certain he was the better leader, and while everyone may not approve at first, that can be changed in time. This was the reason you were roaming around his kingdom, you were going to help him gain that position by exposing any secrets the mushroom Kingdom has that could be of valuable to him, and you were going to enjoy Peach's downfall as she is enslaved by Bowser. It would be revenge for how you suffered under her rule.
As you wandered the lands of the Koopa King you began to think twice about the choices you have made. The scorching hot air and over all atmosphere made you fearful, but it was too late to turn back now.
"Halt!" A Paratrooper shouted in your direction, and swiftly made his way to you "What is your business in the our majesty's lands? You gulped, nervously but quickly responded.
"I wish to speak to the King of Koopas! I have important information on the Mushroom Kingdom to give!". After explaining in futher detail why you were here, you were guided to the castle and into the Bowser's throne room. He was a large and intimidating figure for sure, but you tried your hardest to not seem scared in any way at all. You did stutter slightly, but you showed professionalism. You didn't bore him much with why you changed into wanting him to rule. Instead you told him anything that he may be interested to know about the Castle structure and other things of importance. You had a surprising amount to talk about since you were once a guard for some time so you could gain money to help keep you alive as well as the people helping you. You don't know if it was luck or skill, but you rose through the ranks faster than others and you learned many secret routes and such that many people didn't know about.

By the time you stopped talking, Bowser looked intrigues. He looked slightly bored as if he had a small attention span, but that couldn't be helped since you were saying everything that came to your mind and thus you were talking for a long time, but you tried to keep him engaged by taking some questions from him now and then.
You waited for his reply. If he was the king you were hoping he'd be, he'll give you a job in his army, or at least somewhere to stay.
