"No, Matilda!" Jack steamed, "I was only kidding, can't you tell when a guy is only making a joke? You know that I wouldn't give little Clara up for the world!"

"Well, you sure sound like you do!" Matilda hollared back, "Do you think I'm happy about all of this? No, I'm not! None of us wanted Clara to be blind, but I love her anyway."

"Love," Jack rolled his eyes, "You know nothing about love."
