a new friend

Kalib was only 9 and he was so sad all the time. "Mom, I wish I could walk and be normal," Kalib cried. Everyday it broke Matilda and Jack's heart that Kalib was paralyzed...

One day at school, Kalib was wheeling to the handicapped bus when he noticed another boy wheeling towards it, too.

"Are you new?" Kalib asked the boy. He had blonde spikey hair and glasses.

"Yeah, my name's Wes. I'm from New Jersey," he said, excitedly.

"I'm Kalib. Are you taking this bus?" Kalib demanded.

"Yeah... I'm not going on the normal kid bus," Wes laughed.

From then on, Kalib and Wes were inseperable.
