Ryon stares at you a moment then shakes his head. "I thought you were fearless."
"Fearless, yes, but not brainless. What, exactly does this do and who did you get it from?" You hold the vial tightly and watch your boss closely because as long as you can remember your boss has never been this anxious.
"This is an interesting twist, agent, you questioning me." Ryon smiles and returns to his chair. He sits and stares at you as if trying to intimidate you into backing down.
"Life is full of interesting twists, sir." You say calmly. "Like you turning me into a changeling to go undercover to search for a unicorn."
"True. Well, it is a serum, that you know, given to me by Baladir, a wizard."
"Good or bad." You interrupt.
"Pardon?" Ryon seems dazed.
"A good wizard or a bad wizard?" You press as you feel the vial grow warm in your grasp.
"Does that really matter?" Ryon asks.
"Uh, yeah. That is the most important thing. Good intentions or bad intentions sets up the mood for the whole thing." You say.
"Hmmm. I didn't ask." Ryon says.
"Good detective work, sherlock." You mumble and regret it the minute he glares at you.
"Well?" Ryon demands.
You ponder the dangers and figure they compare to everyday. Well, everyday with a twisted storyline.
You uncork the vial. "Bottoms up, eh boss?" You say for lack of clever wit.
His smile is unusually evil as you down the cool liquid
