Emma nearly drops the plate she is putting away. "What did she tell you?" She demands, putting the plate on top of the plate pile a little too neatly.

"Why should I tell you?" He says hotly.

"Tell me or I leave the room crying, and you don't want that because it will make you feel guilty for the rest of your life. That's why."

Her brother glares at her. "She just said you aced the class. I thought that was strange because you never get A's in anything but algebra and stuff."

Emma's face goes red and....
