With a solid launch, you get to see your raft perform for it's first and likely only time. Though it seems to favor turning to 'starboard', it holds up fairly well as you try and use your bodyweight to steer it out of the main current and towards shore.
Progress is slow, minutes latter your much further down stream, and still only a little closer to making landfall... you begin to wonder if maybe it would have been better to use the fishing line and a bit of debris as a lifeline that you could've tossed to shore and pulled yourself in on. Indeed that does sound like a brilliant idea, too bad you didn't have it half-an-hour ago. Suddenly you don't feel half as smart as you did before, and faced with uncertainty you find yorself thinking about the safety you once had in a cage.
Lost in your line of thought, you don't notice the other line, the one just ahead of you with a floating bauble on the end, the one that leads back to shore and into the bushes. You continue to not notice the line until your katamaran jerks to a stop, caught on the fishing bauble. Unfortunately, the owner of the line is quick to notice your katamaran. Not wanting to loose his hook in the junk that's latched on, he starts pulling the line in at a strong pace, taking you and the katamaran along with it!
