Chapter #3

Vacation Gone Bad

    by: Unknown
You were pondering how you got in this situation. The day had started out fine. It was the third day of a two week long vacation and you were supposed to go on a nature hike in the Amazon. Things went well at first. You had gotten up early with a few of your friends and you had felt a little dizzy but you attributed that to going to sleep so late the previous night. Everyone had gotten dressed and packed for a hard day of walking and made their way to the tour group you were supposed to meet up with.

It was a small group, no more than 20 people. You had walked for an hour in the jungle. Then you had to sail down the Amazon River for another hour before you reached the next walking part of the hike. That is when you started to feel so dizzy that you had to sit down. You decided to wait at the boat dock while the others moved on. One of your friends stayed behind with you to make sure you were alright. About 15 minutes later you started to feel faint. You could hear your friend calling your name, but darkness took you and you cannot remember what happened after that.

Now, you have woken up in the middle of the jungle with no idea how you got you here. Worse still, all your supplies seem to have vanished and your friend is nowhere to be seen. There are no tracks leading here and when you yell for help there is no response. You decide to try and find help even though you know when someone is lost they are supposed to stay put. This situation just seems a little too weird for that situation to apply.

A few minutes later, you hear something approaching from behind. You whirl around expecting a predator and that is sort of what you see. It looks like a fox crossed with a human, which is impossible. The fox is around the same height you are and is wearing some primitive looking clothing, but not that skimpy stuff that is typically used on television and in movies. You think you are sick and must be hallucinating. This idea is further reinforced when the fox starts chanting something that sounds like a magic spell.

A strange blue mist comes out of the tips of her fingers and envelopes you. You try to wipe the mist off you but your efforts do no good. Suddenly, the fox starts to get larger. Then you notice that all the plants are getting larger as well. That is when you realize that the fox is shrinking you. When you try to run you discover that your legs will not move and you can only stare at the fox as you continue shrinking.

By the time you stop you would have to estimate that you were no more than four to six inches tall. The now giant fox walks up to you and sits a wooden cage next to you. She grabs you roughly and stuffs you in the cage. When inside the cage you legs start working again. You run up to the bars of the cage and try to get out but the wood is too strong for you to break. You scream, “Hey, what do you intend to do with me?” And the fox ignores you completely. You start to settle down after a little while and wait to see what the fox has in store for you.

You have the following choices:

1. She is going to sell you.

*Noteb*
2. She is adding you to her collection.

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
