Serena doesn’t look at the ray.
Sometime later Rini came back and noticed the gun.

“Hey didn’t I toss this thing out? Oh well may as well try it again”
With that Rini fired at herself with the device still set to grow.

She fired until the battery died but was disappointed that still nothing seems to be happening.
