Seeing the world pass by at knee height is an interesting experience. Being constantly slammed against the knee of one of your friends by the mere act of her walking is a painful one.
Yet, through it all, you retain a grip on the skirt. It's fortunate that you managed to grab on with both hands, otherwise you'd surely have fallen long before now.
Every now and then you catch glimpses of things that you recognise, sights that give you a clue, no matter how small, as to where Kathryn is headed. You hypothesise, by seeing her pass the yellow dumpster that you know sits outside the main refectory, that she's heading for the coffee house. You hope that she is. It means that she may sit down.
