You concentrate, and suddenly everything slows down. You calmly sidestep Bruno's punch, then bend down and tie his shoelaces together. Then you relax, and time goes back to normal.
BANG!
"Oww!"
Bruno misses you and punches a locker instead. He cradles his hand, looks at you, then turns and tries to run away. For some mysterious reason (wink, wink) he has difficulty doing so, and ends up facedown on the floor. Everyone laughs at him.
"I'll get you for this! You're gonna pay!"
Bruno tries to get up, fails, and crawls away in shame.
The rest of the day goes by without incident. You go home and go to sleep.
The next morning, you notice that your brother doesn't go through his normal routine. He just quietly knocks on your door and whispers "It's time to get up," then walks away.
You get to school and go to your locker. From quite a ways away, you can tell that something isn't right. When you get closer, you find out what it is: someone scratched a bunch of words on your locker door: This locker belongs to a loser.
I play with Barbies.
I am a jerk.
And so on. As you stand there reading these insults, you hear a voice behind you.
"You like it? I did it to repay you for yesterday."
