Just as you think you can't hold the beam any longer, the man goes flying back and hits the wall. You relax and the beam stops. The man's feet slide out from underneath him, and he slumps to the ground, unconscious.
Your head is swimming, and there is a ringing in your ears from the loud humming noise your laser made. You stagger over to the man to take his money.
You see that the man's jacket was destroyed by your beam, and underneath he was wearing some strange type of armor. It's scorched black and smoking.
"So that's how he was able to withstand my blast...." you mutter to yourself. Checking his pockets, you find several hundred dollars in cash.
"Wow! This guy was loaded! I wonder... was he more than just a common criminal? Oh well, he learned his lesson!"
