You make to drive to your friend and Coworker Kim's place when Bill stops you.
"Oh I forgot to mention. Kim said that she isn't coming in today." Said Bill
You are confused.
Kim has never missed a day of work in her life! This must be serious.
" Did she say why?" You ask Bill.
Bill shrugs as he nurses his coffee cup.
" She said something about feeling 'weird'. I asked for details but she refused to elaborate."
You scrunch your face at the very vague answer.
" That doesn't really answer any of my questions. Do you think she's alright?" You ask, feeling concerned.
Bill just waves it off. "Relax bro. You know Kim, she's tough as nails! It will take more than some allergy or cold or some weird space dust to keep her down."
You still aren't very convinced and your face shows it.
Bill gives you his best reassuring smile.
" I'm telling ya this ain't nothing to fret over. In fact I bet you my bottom dollar that Kim will be back as her regular enthusiastic self by tomorrow and we'll all laugh this off."
You stop to consider your feelings and your friend's words before finally conceding.
"I guess you're right." You say, feeling a little bit better about the situation but not entirely at peace.
"I know I'm right!" Bill states confidently.
" Now let's get the lead out before we're late and the Boss chews us out again."
Shivering at the thought of having to go through another one of Gerald's tirades of 'professionalism' and 'personal responsibility', you step on the gas and drive a little faster than would be considered safe.
