This choice: Fierce Deity Mask (God TF, growth, muscle growth.) • Go Back...Chapter #6Fierce Deity Mask (God TF, growth, muscle growth.) by: AnalogSoda Link hacked as possibly thousands of years worth of dust irritated his throat. The rest of the crumbling Hyrule castle had already been neglected over a hundred years, thanks to the calamity, but it seems that no one bothered to look after the royal archives even when this place was filled with life and grandeur.
Link sighed as he recalls fuzzy, decayed memories of the castle. Nostalgia seared his heart, but it burned even more when a much fresher memory came to mind, watching Zelda fall into the distant past, becoming lost to him once more. He can still recall the fear that welled up in his throat as the seemingly all powerful and holy blade of the Master Sword shattered like glass against the overwhelming evil of that damned reanimated corpse.
Ever since he woke up on a floating Island with a brand new arm, it felt like he was running solely on adrenaline and fear. He didn’t know how he was going to defeat such a demon. Link then shook his head and reminded himself to stay calm; he wasn’t there to freak out.
If there’s one thing he knew, it was that this… thing was not a new threat to Hryule, as illustrated by the murals under the castle. He was hoping he’d find something, be it more information or tools that could help him give an edge. Hence, why he was in the archives. The place was filled with old artifacts, ancient texts and records, and other relics of the past.
Linked groaned at the irony of how much easier this would be if Zelda was here. He vaguely remembers accompanying her as she spent late nights scouring the archives for anything that could help in her quest to awaken her inherited power. He remembers carrying her back to her quarters after exhausting herself and falling asleep. Link hoped that wherever she was, she was safe.
Link was pulled out of his memories when he hit his shin on something. Link winced in pain as he bites back curses against the darkness that obstructed him from seeing it. His eyes trail down to a large chest, partially tucked between two bookshelves. He raises his torch to the chest and spots the royal crest carved on the wooden lid.
Link was tempted to ignore it and continue his search, but since it caught his attention, he thought he might as well look. It wasn’t like he had any other leads anyway. Using his new arm, he easily pulls the chest out from the bookshelves and lands it right in front of him. Thank Hylia, this arm was useful.
The chest looked ancient, like it hadn’t been touched for generations. The wood smelled of age, miraculously having not decayed after all this time. Link grunts as he pries open the heavy lid.
It’s empty, all expect for a perfectly preserved mask lying in the center of the chest. Was it made of porcelain? Clay? Link wasn’t sure, but the details were so life-like. The mask seemed to be that of a young hylian man with white hair and blue and red markings decorating its face.
Link places his torch in a nearby, rusted sconce before reaching down and picking up the mask with both hands to examine it. Link grunts and his eyes widen as soon as he picks it up. He can feel pure energy, power radiating off of it, making his hands tremble.
He stares into the mask’s vacant eyes, almost like it’s calling him…
(Sorry this part was pretty long, I’ll try to make the upcoming chapters shorter.) indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
