cold? in May?

as she carefully crawls through the window trying to avoid the broken glass she feels it getting noticeably colder "What on earth?" she thinks aloud as she opens the door to the main hall. It's even colder here. There is frost on the walls, and it's the middle of May! Curiosity peaked she continues down the hall. The closer she gets to the auditorium the colder it seems to get. now there is ice on the floor, ICE! She slowly and carefully treads on the ice until she gets to the assembly door. the door has a thick layer of ice on it.
