The next few moments are a blur. You wait anxiously for a moment to strike, and catch the end of a lace in the midriff. It knocks the wind from your lungs, but you manage to grab on tightly enough to be carried along with the walking goddess.
Of course, as the lace is dragging along the floor, it isn't too comfortable...
You could climb for higher ground, away from the pounding ground that is slowly breaking your bones, but that would mean chancing losing your grip and falling off.
Maybe you should just let go willingly, and try to find some other means of crossing the road?
