Noah grabbed the locket from Dorothea.

"You little thief. I saw you steal this. Wait until my father hears. You will be out of hear in a trice. But first I'm going to take you to my sister, Fat Brenda."

Dorothea turned pale at this. The orphans lived in fear of Fat Brenda. The stories of her cruelty were stories of legend.

Noah took hold of Dorothea and marched her to the small office of the Workhouse.
