Why do bad things happen to such good people?

Samantha shook her head and said to herself, "This is just not right."

With her pants bearly fitting, she walked over to her bathroom scale and took her weight.

"A hundred and twelve?!"she shrieked, "I've gained almost like... five pounds! Oh, God, why do you test me so?"

She walked back to her bedroom, pounding her feet along the way. How could this sort of thing happen to her? She had enough trouble as it was with boys and girls always being so jealous of her, but now this? After a minute or two of self pity, she changed into a pair of fashionable jogging pants and her boyfriends letterman jacket.

"God, I look terrible! I can't go to school like this? Whatever shall I do?" she asked herself.

Oh, whatever shall she do?
