Naomi Tarin, her parents liked to do something different, is just having another normal day in her life. Her life isn't anything remarkable, the same thing as anyone else in the world who's not got any painful memories to deal with in life.
Her job is at her local day care centre and while she loves working with children, she does wonder if there could be something else she could do in case working with children wasn't going to last forever.
Maybe she should have heeded the saying, be careful what you wish for.
It's a normal day at the day care centre where Naomi works, Naomi and her co-workers are looking after the children in their care, playing games with them and just generally making sure their young charges have fun. Sometimes Naomi wonders if she could be a good parent if she ever had kids at some point in her life.
"Up, up and down we go, up, up and down we go" Naomi says as she gently lifts and lowers a young boy of about three years old at his insistence.
"And up again and down again, okay, I think you should stay on the ground for now. That's enough flying for today" Naomi sets the young boy down and he runs off to play with a few kids near the sand pit.
Glad to take a few minutes to try and get the pain in her back to go away, Naomi sits down to watch over the kids as they play.
"You're getting old, you know that, right?" Jake, one of her co-workers and one of only two male child carers in the day centre, sits down beside her.
"We're all getting old, just got to feel young at heart, well that's what my mum tells me a lot anyway. Doesn't it make you feel good to see children playing happily?" She asks as she rubs her back.
"Most of the time, yeah, but when it comes to changing the nappies? That can take a lot of breath holding"
"It's not that bad, and anyway, we used to be that young, don't forget that. So how's things with whatshername?" They talk for a while and then return to work.
The hours pass and soon it's time for the parents to pick their kids up, an hour later Naomi switches off the lights after everyone else has left and she heads to the bus stop. Naomi's been saving up for a car, but she's been wondering just when she'll ever have enough, especially with cars being so expensive as well as the fuel and other costs.
Not that she hates the bus, but it would be nice to not have to endure all the drunks and other rowdy problems who tend to make the trip unbearable.
Thankfully there aren't any problems and she gets home with no problems. Naomi decided to move back in with her parents when she started saving up for her car, her parents don't mind as long as she doesn't make too much of a mess and at least pays her way.
"That you, dear?" Her mum calls through from the living room.
"Yes, mum. Just going to take a bath if that's alright"
"Of course, dear, go ahead"
Finding the water to be at a nice heat, Naomi runs herself a bath, yawning a little while doing so.
"As rewarding as the job is, there has to be something a little more I can do, I should be making my way in my life on my own, not having to rely on my parents to help me" After checking on her bath, Naomi undresses and lowers herself into the hot water, sighing with relief as her body heats up gently.
"Now this is pleasure" After half an hour of a relaxing soak, Naomi gets out, dries off and slips into her favourite fabric pjs and a dressing gown.
Naomi spent a few hours with her parents talking about her day and listening to them talk about their's and shortly after ten she decides to get some sleep.
Just another day...Next morning however:
