You were in the woman’s fanny pack for a while, you could tell she was walking. You heard the sound of a car alarm being cut off, were jostled around, and then heard a car door shut. The beeping sound of a key being placed in an ignition was followed by the sound of an engine starting.
The fanny pack zipped open and the giant woman’s hand entered. She once again easily plucked you up.
“I’m here today with my daughter and her two kids, and their nanny,” the lady said. “She text me to meet her back at the car. I figure if you need help she’ll know what to do.”
You watched the woman slide a fresh cigarette between her lips and light it. She didn’t say anything, simply held you level with her chest while she calmly smoked.
The passenger door opened and the most attractive woman you’d ever seen climbed into the car. You assumed it was the daughter. Her skin was a lighter than her mother’s, just enough you could see freckles on her face. Her curly red, but very much still ethnic hair came down on either side of her face. She had green eyes and an amazing smile.
“Oh, give me one of those. I’ve been with the girls all day, and I just refuse to smoke around them,” the woman said.
Her mom passed her a cigarette and the woman lit it before looking at her mom curiously.
“What’s that in your hand?”
“Honey, you won’t believe this. It’s a young man. Says he needs help.”
The younger woman laughed.
“A man? I’ve spent the past two years looking for a man I could wrap around my finger, and you expect me to believe you’re holding one in yours? Mama, you’re crazy.”
“Janelle, I’m serious. Hold your hand out.”
The giant woman dropped you into the younger woman’s hand.
“Ho-ly shit…. Mama where on earth did you find someone this small?”
“In an ashtray at the park. Jumping around asking me to help him.”
“Are… are you okay little man?” Janelle asked.
“Yes ma’am, I’m fine. I just have no clue how I got this small…”
“I didn’t even know people could get this small,” Janelle replied.
“If you can get me home I’d appreciate it. I live a few towns over.”
“I’ll be heading that way in business on Wednesday,” Janelle’s mom said. “I can take you.”
“Are you okay staying with me until then?” Janelle asked, taking a drag off of her cigarette.
You were terrified of being this small, and wanted to find help quick, but you also quickly picked up this was your only option.
“Yeah, that’s fine,” you replied as Janelle blew smoke on you. You coughed and batted at the smoke.
“I’m so sorry!” Janelle exclaimed. “I… I was just kind of starring at you. You’re really cute you know…”
This was an awkward time to flirt you thought.
“Janelle, leave that boy alone. He needs help, not a single mom who’s gonna break his heart.”
“Mama!” she exclaimed.
“It’s true,” her mom said looking down at you for a moment, pulling out of the parking space. “She can’t commit to nothin’. Jerome ain’t done nothing wrong, and she left him.”
“Jerome cheated on me! Speaking of Jerome, he’s gonna watch the kids next week. They’re with Sarah, she’s taking them to his house.” Janelle turned her gaze back to you. “I’m sorry about that. What’s your name? How old are you?”
“Mike. I’m 18.”
“I’m Janelle,” she said, taking another drag off of her cigarette. “I’m 23,” she said with a mischievous smile before playfully blowing her smoke at you,
“That was on purpose,” she said winking.
