That night Isabelle's sleep was plagued with horrible nightmares of what may have befallen her parents. Fortunately, she was awoken early that morning when the advisors finally arrived. She got dressed and went to the conference room. "Good morning."
They all stood as she entered the room, "Good morning your Highness."
She sat at the head of the table and motion for them to sit. There were about 8 advisors. Isabelle had often seen them in here at the exact same seats the were now. The only difference was that is was her father sittng wher she now sat. Even though she had often seen them and even sat in during some of the discussions, she knew none of their names. As she sat there in her reverie the advisors began agruing on what to do. She didn't even notice until it got too loud for her to think.
"Silence," she comanded.
They were all stunned, none of them thought she had it in her. "Sorry, M'Lady," one of them spoke.
"That's fine, but we do have a lot to talk about and it might go better if everyone wasn't speaking at once."
"Yes your Highness."
"Where should we begin? What should be done?"
The room immediately erupted in discussion once again. This time Isabelle stayed silent looking around the room. After a few minutes the advisors finally caught on that she was waiting and they quieted.
One finally spoke, "Well, I think that we should try to keep this all quiet. If the kingdom found out that the King and Queen are missing there will be mass hysteria."
"I don't think so," another argued. "The people should know. Maybe one of them knows somehting."
A third then chimed in, "I agree, besides they will catch on when we assemble the army. They'll know somehting is going on.
A fourth, "Who said anything about assembling the army?"
"Think about it. The King and Queen may have been kidnapped. We are vulnerable to attack with them missing."
"With the King and Queen gone, Princess Isabelle would be left as high commander of the army. Assembly the army will unnerve neighboring kingdoms, they may even think we are preparing to attack them and make the first move and attack us, and, no offense your Highness, but she is no where near ready for a full scale war."
"None taken," she replied. Since, the advisors were once again arguing, almost screaming at each other, she sat in silence waiting. After several more minutes they caught on and ceased their arguements.
