Chapter #5
Elena, the lost soul
by: Unknown
Elena Rise never asked for much commitment from the man she loved but a little honesty was all she requested. She had seen Michael many a time, looking out for his sister. His sister the risk-taker, the trouble-maker, the one who never changed. Elena had tried to warn him during their moments of fight but the he always replied that she was his sister and she will, one day, grow up. Every time that ended the arguement and Elena, a twenty-seven year old house wife went back to her original idea of acting like nothing happened. She'd wash the dishes, prepare the meals and act heavenly during the night all to protect herself from any heart ache she may later endure if she were to fight him. Michael at thirty years of age was still thriving for something. He wanted the perfect family and Elena knew that even her and Matthew weren't enough to stop him disappearing into the night to save his sister, to just sit or to find a family, a woman more suitable. With all these thoughts buzzing through her head Elena realised she'd washed the same plate seven times.
"Matthew, time for bed." She smiled at her son on the floor playing with his cars, ramming them into the cupboard like it were a brick wall. Just like Elena trying to talk to her husband, Michael. She sighed putting the plate down on the side and putting Matthew over her shoulder and carrying him up to bed.
"Tell me a story mummy." The five year old infant wailed as his mother approached the door to leave.
"Not tonight." Elena sighed as she turned on the side light, turned off the main and closed the door.
