Monica may have been a fussy, over-competitive neat freak, but if there was one advantage to being her roommate, it was the fact that their was always plenty of tasty food to be had. Rachel often found herself being pressed into service as a taste tester for the latest batch of cookies, brownies or pastries, and rarely a day went by without a new pie or cake recipe. Every day when she got back from work she was extremely grateful for the hearty meal that Monica provided.
The downside however, was making it self more and more noticeable. Every day when she tied her apron down at the coffeehouse she felt it cutting a little more into her midsection. Her flat stomach had been replaced by a little potbelly that hung over her waistband, and a matching set of love handles. She ignored it at first, but even when she decided to do something about it she found she couldn't stop herself from overindulging. Even at work she started snacking of muffins and croissants whenever she figured Gunther wasn't looking. Combined with all of Monica's home-cooked delicacies, the weight really started to pile on.
