Chapter #4

Meeting Harry and Cho

Severus woke with a yawn, gazing around him at the vaguely familiar room where he lay spread on the blue silky carpet. The walls were hung with blue and gold tapestries depicting great eagles, and a fire crackled by the far wall. He was alone, but voices drifted down from the two vast staircases twisting above him.
Suddenly, a little door burst open and a girl flew in, closely followed by a boy in a red cloak.
"Look, Harry, I don't want anything to do with you anymore!" The girl whipped round as she stepped onto the stairs.
"But why, Cho? What happened?" The teenage boy adjusted his cracked spectacles and glared. Severus felt an instant wave of dislike towards him, which was greatened when the boy turned his head to Snape.
"What are you staring at?"
"Nothing." Severus jumped up, noticing proudly his long black cloak, and hurried up the staircase past Cho. Instantly it became a stone slide and both he and the girl shot down to the floor, laughing.
"Sorry, that's the girls' dormitories!" she giggled. Severus blushed.
"Oops, sorry about that. New here." He smiled briefly at her and rushed up the other steps. As he disappeared into the dorm labelled 'Y12', he heard the boy's sharp voice.
"Don't talk to that waste of space when I'm speaking to you!"
