Team Freedom Fighters all appeared in a base that looked like a stereotypical hero lair, which included statues and pictures of all the team members in heroic poses that befit their personalities.
Everyone quickly sat down to compare notes, learning differences between realities. Everyone not from Whisper and Tangle's timeline was horrified to learn about the Zombot Virus, Nicole realizing, to her dismay, that the Eggman of one of her timelines was leading up to it, if the notes she'd stolen from his computers were any indication.
"I don't think he'll get a chance to use it again," Sonic said. "From what I remember, he lost control of it pretty quickly, and was infected himself before Silver and I went super and tossed the virus into the sun."
Sally sighed. "Risky, but I suppose it was the best possible option," she said.
"I bungled getting data off of a wrist device, and we lost any computers we had from zombot attacks," Sonic said, looking ashamed.
"You stopped it," Whisper said softly, hugging Tangle. "You saved everyone... That's what counts."
"She's right! If everyone here is any indication, you're a hero of several worlds! So be happy!" Tangle said, grinning.
Sonic chuckled, lightened up, everyone else agreeing with the lemur. "...Well, that just leaves this mess to deal with," he said.
"I found a communications deck," Espio said, reappearing in a ninja smoke puff. "We can contact the other teams to check on their progress, although Eggman's team and the villains team aren't exactly willing to talk to us."
"Can't imagine why," Knuckles muttered.
"No food around from what I can see," Charmy said, Saffron floating near him. Charmy, having memories of being older and then getting brain damaged from Saffron's reality, was uncomfortable around the female bee, although it made him sad to feel that way. "There's a kitchen, with lots of carving knives, and I think the material's made of splash proof stuff, which I'm really not liking the implications of... oh woah..." Charmy staggered, drifting down into Vector's arms. Tangle, Marine, and Cream all felt dizzy too.
"IT'S THE RADIO WAVES!" Sticks screamed, having been silent all this time. "They're sucking the life out of us! Quick! Destroy every television!" Mighty grabbed her before she could run off and start breaking things, lifting the insane badger into the air to flail uselessly.
"It's not that," Sonic said, looking around. "I have a feeling its our host that's to blame."
"And you'd be correct!" a familiar voice said, as the giant serpent appeared on every monitor in the building. "Lemme clarify a few things, and yes, I'm broadcasting this to all teams - First, fighting and eating opposing teams: There's no point. You'll all respawn anyway, so instead why not try having fun with each other? You'll able to move at extreme sizes and get bigger 'equipment' accordingly to have fun with. And remember I said I can force you to eat people? Living beings are literally the only thing you can eat now. You can eat and digest other matter, yes, but it won't be satisfying. If you don't eat people, then not only do you die, but you and all versions of you cease to exist."
"...You're an utter fuckboy, you know that?" Sonic said.
"Mr. Sonic said a bad word," Cream said, half-heartedly trying to tease.
"This time it merits it," Sally said. Vanilla would later agree with her.
The cobra vanished, and everyone looked at each other worriedly. After a long, uneasy silence, Vector picked up a cup that was on a nearby table and tossed it into his mouth, swallowing it whole. Everyone stared. After a long moment with no visible reaction, he shrugged.
"I guess its safe," he said. "And he's right. I'm still hungry."
"Damn it..." Sonic said. "All right. Let's go and..." He sighed tiredly. "Try and eat some people."
"Should we bring back some for those who felt weakened?" Nicole asked.
"I'm okay now, Mr. Sonic," Cream said.
"Yeah, just got hunger dizzy for a sec," Tangle said.
"Let's all spread out, and meet up back here," Sally said. "Good luck."
