As Brad and Kyle made their way to the athletic facility, they were both tugging at their shirts. Brad had put on some rock hard muscle and was bigger than ever. Kyle had gotten a lot bigger too, but his weight was in his belly and flabby body. The two looked over the roster posted on the weight room door searching for their names. Kyle shouted and jumped up and down when he found his. Brad was getting frantic not being able to find his name.
"Sorry Brad. We had a lot of receivers come out this year." The boys turned around and saw the head coach. "Wow! You two really bulked up! Dang Brad if you were this big at tryouts you probably would have made the team. As long as you still have your speed and agility." Brad hung his head. That's when Coach saw Kyle. He raised his eyebrows at the sight of Kyle's belly. "Kyle what happened to you?! You are going to have to get back in shape boy." Coach walked back to his office.
When Kyle and Brad got back to their room, Brad was really upset. "Can you believe this?! How'd I not make the team!? This is crazy!" He said pacing.
"Dude what am I going to do? I'm going to die at practice!" Kyle said as he plopped down on the couch. Brad grabbed a couple beer and tossed one to Kyle. As he sat next to him, Brad put his arm around one of his shoulders and said, "I don't know bro, I tried to get you to work out with me! Maybe I should have been the one to kick it and stuff my face."
Kyle cracked open his beer and said, "Nah trust me, you got the better deal. I wish I had taken your advice!"
That night Brad took a break from the gym and went out with Kyle and some other guys. The next day, Kyle really suffered at practice. He was out of breath nearly the whole time and threw up on the sideline. Coach yelled at him and some of the other guys laughed, but Kyle finished out practice and headed home. Brad was at the gym only halfway going through his workouts still bummed about not making the team.
