This choice: At home, Steven plays with Matt in his room. (he's a playful gentle giant) • Go Back...Chapter #7Steven's Room by: Caprino All during the journey in the pocket of little Steven's pants, Matt had little choice but to think on his precarious dilemma. He would rather be in more dependable hands, but at his tiny size, he has no choice but to try the boy.
Steven, except for his enormous size, looked like any other sweet, adorable little boy. He might only be six years old, but if Steven got clumsy or impatient, the consequences could be dire for Matt.
Matt figured he could reason with the boy and convince him to get him back to his home. Without access to his lab, he knew he had no hope of getting back to a normal size and a normal life.
So, after a long, boring journey in the pocket, Matt was ready when Steven's hand intruded into the pocket. The huge fingers nabbed tiny Matt and pulled him out.
The tiny youth found himself on a vast bed. Steven sat on the bed, looking down at tiny Matt.
Steven, with that mop of golden blond hair, still looked like an angel.
A very big angel as he loomed over Matt a colossus.
Matt felt very nervous, but he had to regain the upper hand.
"Where are we now, Steven?"
"In my room."
Matt remembered that Steven's room meant that he was far across town, actually in the countryside, probably in one of the many subdivisions that had been constructed on former farmlands. In other words, he was a good distance from home.
"Steven, you have to help me..." Matt began.
Suddenly, Steven reached down and poked Matt with a big finger. The simple jab bowled Matt over.
The boy laughed. "How'd you get so tiny if you're not a fairy?"
"I invented a formula," Matt said, but then Steven looked confused.
"It's like medicine," Matt said. "And I drank it, and then I shrunk."
"Cool!" Steven said. "And now you're my pet."
"No!" Matt exclaimed. How to convince this huge boy that he wasn't going to be his pet?
Suddenly, he didn't have any options. Without warning or permission, Steven scooped him into his fist.
To Matt's fright, he felt almost crushed in the boy's grasp. Finally, when he felt he might suffocate, Steven released him...
...by dropping him into a enormous glass bowl.
Could it be?
Matt looked around the curved walls. It was! Steven had put him into a huge fish bowl.
"Steven!" Matt screamed. "Let me out of here."
The angel with the golden hair looked down at him and smiled. "That's your new home," the boy said.
As Matt stared up at him from the depths of the glass bowl, Steven smiled again.
"We'll be the bestest friends ever, little guy."
Unfortunately, Matt wasn't quite sure he shared the boy's optimism. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
