The boards of the floor vibrated beneath Matt’s tiny bare feet.
“What the...” Matt bit off his words as the titanic figure came into sight.
His friend looked so huge that Matt would have found Andy unreal except for the explosions each of his friend’s enormous footsteps caused as the soles of his sneakers slammed against the unyielding hardwood floor.
Matt started running, but another footstep caused a quake that knocked him flat. He sprawled on the floor and looked as Andy made his way into the lab.
His friend called out Matt’s name in a booming voice.
“Andy!” Matt managed to get back on his feet. He waved his arms over his head. “Andy! Look down! Down here!”
Andy wore a pair of tattered sneakers, baggy jeans and a red T-shirt. His shaggy head of light brown hair cascaded down around his face.
Matt realized his pathetic squeaks failed to carry enough volume to possibly be heard by his friend. Andy looked more than three thousand feet tall!
And his friend stomped across the floor, oblivious to anything in his path.
Matt stared in horror at those sneakers — each almost 500 feet long and 200 feet tall at the ankle. “Andy! Don’t step on me!” Matt screamed as loudly as he could.
As if following a script, Andy turned and headed toward the very spot on the floor where his tiny friend stood frozen in a terrified stupor.
No way out! Matt looked around, but found himself caught in the open with his titanic friend bearing down on him.
