With a horrifying slowness Sam lifts her foot up, and Matt watches as the titanic shoe comes crashing down right on top of him. Matt, though terrified, is still capable of rational thought at this point, and sees his only way to survive the encounter with Sam's sole. He was lucky in a way. Had she been wearing her usual high heeled boots he would be dead for sure under its flat sole. Instead she wore a pair of sneakers with ridges on the bottom. With a look skyward he found a place where he could curl up and wait.
He did not wait long as no sooner had he gotten into position then foot struck the ground with a force that would have reduced him to a smear in short order. Luck, and his good judge of distance, was on his side in this instance as the shoe slammed down around him, casting him into a void of darkness. Looking around he found he could see nothing, though his sense of smell told him that Sam really needed to clean off the bottom of her shoe.
Suddenly he realized that he could use his new position to his advantage, and so stretched out his arms, jamming himself into place. When the shoe lifted up again so that Sam could check her handiwork she found a clean, well of Matt guts anyway, floor. Looking down she decided that the dot hadn't been a bug like she'd though. It must have been a trick of the light or a dust mote. She never did check the bottom of her shoe, where she would have found a very tiny passenger hanging on for his life as she brought it down again.
At this point Matt found out that his great idea wasn't so great, as the force of Sam's footfalls nearly ripped his arms out of their sockets, but he wasn't about to abandon the idea, after all he needed help, and though the antidote was in the lab, he doubted he could get it without help. Steeling himself against the pain in his shoulders Matt hung on for his life as Sam continued to walk through the lab following Kellie. He couldn't really make ut what they were saying because his attention was focused on holding on, but he thought he heard his name a few times, and then something that sounded like pouring liquid.
