Chapter #3Side effects by: Unknown Matt was shocked to find the formula would have such a dramatic effect and, for the moment, he was stuck this way, but he reasoned that sooner or later someone would come looking for him and after getting their attention he could be changed back.
He waited for what seemed like hours for Kellie to get home from school. She probably would want to talk with him about homework or something. Once she got over the shock of seeing him like this, getting returned to normal would be no problem. Matt's only worry was whether she would bring her friends with her. He didn't really want to appear tiny and naked in front of all her friends, it would be hard enough with just her....
His thoughts were soon interrupted by the basement door opening and footsteps on the wooden staircase. The sound of girls talking let him know right away that Kellie was here with her friends. Turning crimson, Matt wished there was a way for him to cover himself a little better. Unfortunately, he would get his wish in a way that he didn't intend. Matt felt a tingling sensation over his entire body as some unprecedented side effects began....
Kellie reached the bottom of the stairs. Behind her were her two friends, Julie and Samantha. "Matt, where are you" Kellie called. Looking around, she saw Matt's notebook laying on the table, along with a jar containing some kind of blue liquid, and a pile of his clothes in the corner. "Are you sure he's here?" asked Julie. Kellie's confused expression made her look in the same direction, at the empty pile of clothes. "Oooh he must be naked!" Samantha exclaimed. "Yuck, I hope not" said Julie. Her eyes traveled to a tiny, tan object not far from the pile of clothes. "Hey Kellie, what is that?" "What's what?" "That thing moving around near Matt's shirt."
Kellie, Julie and Samantha walked over to the tan object moving across the floor. By some trick of light it appeared to be getting darker as they approached, and changing shape slightly. By the time they were standing over it, it looked completely different. "Oh, it's just a fly. It looked really weird for a minute, almost like it was...." Julie drifted off, unsure of what to say. Samantha bent down and blew a puff of air at the fly. Almost immediately, it took off and began circling the girls. "Shoo, get out of here" Samantha said, swatting at it. Almost as though it understood, the fly took off up the stairs and out of the basement.
Julie was the first to break the silence. "Let's go to Wendy's for some fast food. We can find Matt later." "Alright", Kellie agreed, preoccupied with what she had just seen. Surely it was just her mind playing tricks on her.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
