Decides to Tackle the Computer

First, Matt crawled out of the crevice between the floorboards.

He felt fortunate to have escaped his close call.

"I better think of a way to get help," he said.

Suddenly, inspiration struck. If he could reach his computer, maybe he could contact someone to help him.

He looked for ways to scale the clifflike side of his desk.

Snaking cables down the back of the computer might provide one method.

His other choice involved climbing onto his bed, via the convenient bedcovers, and then trying to bridge the gulf between the bed and the adjacent desk.
