This choice: running forwards ahead of the shoe • Go Back...Chapter #7running forwards ahead of the shoe by: NVR   Jenn screamed and fortunately, reacted on time as she broke into a sprint as fast as she could to not get caught under Amber's shoe just like that dead bee she saw earlier, her athletic skill put to full use as she managed to get out of the impact area in time. The giant white sneaker crashing on the ground just behind her and then rising up again made her stumble and fall, but at least she was unscathed. She caught her breath and stared speechless at the colossal pillars quickly moving forward and causing another couple tremors on the ground, which was just Amber walking at a normal pace before reaching the porch. "That was awful" Jenn thought once the coast was clear, looking at the small imprints left by Amber's sneaker and from her perspective, the serious damage caused to the blades of grass around her.
"At least she didn't see it, but this sucks. How am I going to grow back?" Jenn thought as she walked towards the remote that remained laying there on the ground. The good news was that it fell face up, meaning she wouldn't have to do any extra work trying to turn over a thing that looked like a container she could fit into, but the bad news was that even if she managed to climb up there and push the button, how could she aim at herself?
"Ugh, stupid remote! I can't even carry it back home" Jenn stomped her foot, frustrated, and assessed her options. The most obvious one was to get help from someone by entering her home, but she knew it was going to be hard because everyone was busy. Her brother was busy with his games, her sister was with Amber who hated her, and her mother was catching up with some work in the small office upstairs. She could also just try to activate the remote by herself while somebody else showed up, as she was smaller than the remote but not that small that it would be impossible to climb the thing and press the buttons or change again the dial that she was sure it would make her grow. The important part though was that she saw other buttons on the remote, if any of those worked like the timer on her phone camera, she could enable it, climb down and grow back up without help. It was hard too, but it was better than just waiting and would keep her close to the remote, because Jenn started fearing someone just taking the remote while she went to the house looking for help.
"At least the day is not boring anymore" Jenn sighed but chuckled "and when I grow back I can have a lot of fun with that weird thing" she motivated herself, making her choice and remembering how fun it was to get rid of Tom. Once she got past this silly mistake, she had already a few other targets in mind..
