The world of Tavis V.
Tavis V was a haven of smugglers and criminals. It had cities that would make Mos Eisley seem like Disneyland. Abis Mal was from one of those cities. Abis Mal came from a large city of Gaifounge on the Alarvi River. Abis was, in fact, the great-grandson of the governor of Tavis V, Tobias Mal. Abis Mal is a smuggler.
Abis Mal is not in Gaifounge now. He is running away from it in his YT-1300 craft (it looks like the Millenum Falcon). He was running from it because the city was now in flames. The new Galactic Empire had decided to hunt down all criminals and smugglers on Tavis V. He was also running away from the city because he had just killed two imperial officers, and he had no desire to stay and wait to get killed himself. Abis wasn't the only man on board The Glory Road. Yolana Mal was also there. Yolana is Abis's older sister. Yolana is also a smuggler. Yolana was piloting the Glory Road--which belonged to Abis--but Yolana was the better pilot. The empire was destorying Tavis V. Tavis V had refused to recongize the new Empire and the entire planet was suffering for it. Abis and Yolana Mal are orphans now. Thier parents had been killed by clone troopers commanded by two imperial officers. Abis and Yolana had killed the two officers and decided to run from Tavis V.
There were two Star Destoryers in orbit around Tavis V, but the Glory Road was nowhere near them now. That's how Abis and Yolana Mal got away from Tavis V before anyone could stop them. The Glory Road disappeared as it went to lightspeed.
