Chapter #3Double the trouble, double the fun by: Unknown "Penny! Jenny! Come say goodbye, would you?" a female pikachu morph on the cusp of middle age called up the stairs. A suitcase stood by her feet, and she wore a wide brimmed hat.
"Coming mom!" came two voices in perfect unison. A moment later, two teenage girls came thumping down the stairs. Other sisters might jockey for position or at least be bothered by the tight fit, but not Penny and Jenny. Penny, a plusle (the alliteration being the only way anyone remembered) and Jenny, a minun, could only just be told apart by the tips of their ears or their flushed/pale cheek spots. The two girls gave their mother two identical smiles. Their mother smiled back weakly. The girls weirded even her out. They were inseparable, and seemed to be exactly the same girl in most regards. They had hit puberty at the same time, and now at 16 both wore healthy C-cup bras, 30'' waist jeans, and stood exactly 5'6''. But more than that, they had the same taste in food, movies, pastimes....there were small things, like how Penny preferred caramel with her ice cream while Jenny liked butterscotch, but it was still uncanny. That didn't stop their mother from giving them both a big, heartfelt hug.
"Are you sure you two are going to be okay?" she asked.
"Of course mom." Penny asked. The girls actually designated who got to talk when they were both addressed, since before they did that they'd always answer in unison, creeping everyone out. It's was Penny's turn today, obviously.
"I'll call once my flight lands. You know you can rely on Ms. Kanya next door."
"We'll be fine mom." Penny said with a laugh. "Right Jenny?"
"Sure thing! We're so glad you're finally getting away."
"Yes, but even then it's business." their mother said, letting her daughters go. "I'll try and find time to relax. You two be good. Oh, and one more thing. I want you two to try to get out more okay? It's great that you get along so well, but if it was up to you you'd never see anyone else. You should find yourself - yourselves - a couple of boyfriends."
"You want us to start dating while you're gone?" Penny asked with a giggle.
"I'm just saying you two could do with a little more socialization. Don't stay cooped up in your room together all summer, okay?"
"Promise." the girls said in unison. Their mother smiled, picked up her bag, and headed for the door.
"See you in a month and a half!"
"Byye!"
Their mother left. Penny and Jenny turned to one another, grinning mirrors. Penny spoke to her sister. They probably didn't need to, but it was a good habit to keep talking. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
