He was here as a tourist.

After a quick but pleasant lunch at a small diner in town, John stood out in the warm day, patting his belly contentedly. "Mmm, that was great. I might have to come back later." His tailfire flickered as he looked around, wondering what to check out first. There was the Burned Tower, which was supposed to be an incredible sight to behold. Also, many treasure hunters came into town every now and then to scavenge around the ruins, so maybe he could find a cool souvenir.

However, there was also a magician in town, and his act was supposed to be legendary! Who knew what kind of tricks he'd pull off?

Or he could keep looking and see what else was up.
