You lean into the van, lean in and start to pull out a box, and find a bag of Doritos behind the box. You rip them open and start to eat. It's not that you're hungry, or that you really need or want to eat - but your Dad has been providing you with so much food, from good meals to snack food, ever since you were little that whenever you see food now you eat it. You especially eat if you're feeling stressed, and after catching sight of the handsome neighbor guy smirking at you in your too small t-shirt, you're stressed. You don't mind your body so much when you're wearing loose clothes, but you hate anyone to see you in tight clothes.
And you never take your shirt off in public.
Never.
As you stand and snack, you miss the approach of the handsome neighbour. He saunters slowly up the drive, broad shoulders filling a tight blue t-shirt tucked into snug black jeans, until he is literally at your shoulder. When he says "Hi" you jump. You shove the bag of Doritos back into the van, and turn to say hello, pulling down your sweater over your gut, where it rose when you jumped.
"Hi," you say in return. "We're just moving in."
"That's what I hoped," he replies. "I'm Dan," he says, "it'll be nice to have you around. Not many guys our age in this development."
He smiles broadly, and you take in the perfect white teeth and the twinkle in his brown eyes. "Do you like to swim? Your pool's not filled and it's pretty hot. You must be boiling in that sweater. You can come over to our pool. Or do you need a hand moving stuff in. I'm pretty strong, I'd be glad to help," he adds almost as an afterthought.
Taking in his bulging biceps and chest, you think ‘pretty strong' is an understatement. You'd like to go swimming, but you know Dad wants the van unloaded pronto. You decide to...
