You glanced nervously at Gorgeous Georgie, and give her a white-toothed grin. (Sometimes you think that your teeth distract people from your fat belly.) Georgie returns the smile and bats her long eyelashes. She has really pretty eyes. You step close to her, so your can whisper in her ear.
"Will you come with me, Georgie? To get my trunks...I don't exactly know my way around here, and you can walk me to the pool."
Georgie grins and nods her head. She waves confidently back at the gang, and grabs your hand - which makes you smile. Girls don't usually didn't act this way around you. You feel like you're floating down the sidewalk, and at your house you fairly bounce up the steps to the door. As you open the door to let Georgie in, you try to wipe the stupid smile off your face. "Hang on. It'll only be a minute."
You start to pound up the stairs, but your fat gut bounces wildly and you slow down - don't want to seem TOO excited. You grab a towel, some suntan lotion, and then shuffle through your boxes for your trunks - hoping they're not TOO small. Finding them, you shout to your Dad, "I'm going to a pool with some new kids."
"OK, Pete. Make some new friends," Dad replies.
You're so happy you start to run down the stairs, making your gut bounce so much that you almost almost lose your balance, but you catch yourself just in time. You look at Georgie and open the door for her. "Ladies first." Then you float back up the sidewalk with Georgie to Daphne's.
When you get to the pool, the girls are staring at you - but you don't care, you've got Georgie beside you. "Well, aren't you going to put your trunks on?" she asks.
