Amy Rose was in Station Square one day. She was feeling quite happy, as her boxercising was getting better by the day.
"Now to go back to my apartment," she thought. "I can get on with my boxercising afterwards. Oh, Sonic! When he sees my figure, he'll love me for sure!"
As she closed the door to her apartment and looked around, she noticed a sparkle on the carpet. She recognised the shape and size as a Power Ring, but the only thing different about it was that it was glowing pink, not gold.
"That's strange," she thought, standing over it. "Power Rings are Sonic's main source of energy. They also help him to stay in his Super form. The colour of the rings matches his Super form's colour..." She pondered about it for a minute. She was distracted when the phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Hi, can I speak to Amy, please?"
"Speaking."
"Hi, Amy! This is Rouge."
Amy stiffened. She had a grudge against Rouge, and the two didn't get along well.
"What do you want?"
"Hey, what's the tone of voice for, little lady? Anyway, I phoned you to see if you have one of those."
"What's 'one of those'?
"I'm talking about the miscoloured Power Rings, of course! You know what they are?
"I-"
"Of course you do. I'm sorry." Rouge's voice, as usual, was giving nothing away. Amy couldn't tell if she was lying or not.
"Anyway, I found one lying in my room as well! It's purple."
"Mine's pink!"
"Tails' is orange."
"Tails got one?!"
"Yep, and Knuckles. His was red."
"What are they? Are they harmless?"
"They appear to be normal. I picked up my ring, and it's not doing anything wierd. What about yours?"
"I haven't picked it up yet."
"Why don't you take it to Club Rouge? I'd love to hear about it."
There was a click, and Rouge hung up.
Amy sighed. "Guess I'd better go."
She walked over to the ring, and bent over to pick it up. As her hands closed around it, there was a zap! and the ring disappeared.
Amy stood there for a second, and then walked over to the phone. She dialed Club Rouge.
"Hello sugar?"
"This is Amy. I picked my ring up and-"
But Amy was interrupted by Rouge laughing. "I can't believe you fell for it!" Rouge said. Then there was a click, and Rouge hung up.
"She lied! And what's going to happen to me?"
Half an hour passed, and nothing happened. She went on with her boxercising, and after she finished, there was a knock at the door. Cream had come to visit.
"Hi Amy. How's your training going?"
"Not too bad, thanks. I have to tell you something, though..."
Amy told Cream about the mysterious ring, and the trick Rouge had played on her.
"It doesn't look like anything's happening," Cream said, in her small, high-pitched voice. But, just then...
