Chapter #4
Dogs Hate Fat People
by: Unknown
Tom frowned. Ok this was getting too weird. He might have felt a little bad about last night but he wasn't coming home with this heffer. She's lucky to be standing here talking to him in the first place and now she wants to play nurse?
"Look" Tom began condescendingly with a smug grin "I'm sure everything is fine. I just wanted to say sorry because I felt bad is all. I've got to get moving. See ya."
Tom didn't notice Ellisa break into a grin once more as he jogged off. He rounded the corner and crossed the street into the park trail. "Man, I must have had way too much to drink last night and those couple of cigarettes didn't help either!" Tom began probing his mind for all the things he did last night and even last week. He knew something was wrong and it seemed like the sky was pressing down on his head with every step he took.
Tom had reason to be so baffled. He was a jock in every way shape and form. He lived for sports and was loved for it in turn. His pristine body showed it and the girls couldn't get enough of this heavenly hunk. After school, he worked out, lifting weights. In school, he was captain of the team. He swam and ran on his freetime. A morning jog was just part of the routine and now he was practically struggling to get along when...
"Hey, watch where you're going, fat ass!"
Tom had been so enveloped in thought that he grazed the shoulder of another man. The gentleman walking his dog on the path rubbed his shoulder and looked at Tom with strong disapproval.
"Oh, sorry about that", Tom said, slowing to a hault. "I'm kinda out of it from a party last night"
"Yeah well maybe you should lay off the beer, buddy."
The man's cocker spaniel began to growl, looking Tom squarely in the eye. The man cocked his head and frowned and then, just as though to be mean, he added "sorry about that...he doesn't like fat people much." He turned and bagan to walk away, giving the leash and extra tug, breaking the cocker spaniel from his growl and moving along.
"Doesn't like fat people? What the hell is he talking about?" Tom was utterly confused. He'd thought the "fat ass" comment was some sort of slight not to be taken seriously but that man seemed to imply something. He mentioned fat more than once and was that beer comment supposed to mean something too?
