Luckily for Phil, most of the class did not agree with Karen's viewpoint of him. Karen had raised her mighty foot high into the atmosphere to finish her vile act when two girls physically forced her backward. Phil was almost inadvertantly crushed by some of the other girls who had moved in closer to see just what was going on.
Mrs. Pritty quickly took action, picking Phil up off the ground. Then, Mrs. Pritty turned her attention onto the murderous Karen.
"Karen", Mrs. Pritty exclaimed, "Attempted murder will not be tolerated in my classroom. That's two weeks detention for you".
After several apologies by Mrs. Pritty, she realized that she had not yet asked if he was alright.
"Oh, Phil", Mrs. Pritty began, "Are you okay? Do you need to go see the nurse? Do you want me to call your mother? Should I...".
"It's okay", Phil interrupted his teacher in a slightly annoyed tone, "I'm just a little bruised up is all. I'll be fine".
Mrs. Pritty nodded at the little trooper to signify that she understood. Phil was taken to Mrs. Pritty's desk, seeing as how trusting her students to not abuse Phil was out of the question.
The rest of the morning went well for Phil. Sure, Phil had some aches and pains, but his unquenchable thirst for knowledge served to be a most soothing elixer. Phil also frequently showed off his knowledge to the class as he answered many of Mrs. Pritty's questions.
Then, lunch time came and the room had become completely abandoned. Everyone, including Mrs. Pritty, seemed to have forgotten about Phil (or at least the hardships he would endure in getting to the cafeteria by himself). However, someone did come back into the room a few moments after everyone else had left. It was one of Phil's classmates...
