"Hey, Sev," Lily said, waving a little. "Can I sit here?"

Lucius frowned and opened his mouth to say something, but Severus jumped up and spoke before him. "Sure, Lily," he said, gesturing to the seat next to him. Lily smiled at him before taking the seat.

"What house do you suppose you'll be in?" Lily asked. "I'm thinking Ravenclaw."

"Slytherin," Severus answered. "I hear they have more likelihood of being better taught in the Dark Arts." Severus bit his lip when Lily pursed her lips and turned to Lucius.

"Hello, I'm Lily," she said, holding her hand out for him to shake. "What's your name?"
