My goodness. What an emotionally charged story. It is truly heart wrenching. It is so believable that I hope this is fictional and not a biographical account.

The characters are so real and natural it is hard to tell. You do a fantastic job with the dialog as well.

This story is already so good it is difficult to suggest anything that might improve it. If you gave a more detailed account of the phone call where the ex shoots himself it might add even more drama. However, there is a fine line between dramatic and morbid so I think how you handled it is fine.

Overall, I think this is a powerfully moving tale of love and tragedy. I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to reading more from you in the future.
