Hey Joe,

As always another great piece of writing. I love your style so much. This is a great story. The premise is very interesting on many levels. Any time you are dealing with antiques and old mansions it's going to be intriguing.

You set the scene very well. The atmosphere of the old mansion and the bit with the note is neat and well written. It adds to the creep factor immeasurably with Kate being there alone.

I can't help but smile as Kate starts finding all her dream antiques in the basement because I know something is going to go very wrong at any minute. I have no idea what but something. I love that you drag that sensation out a bit because it is priceless really.

My one critique is that the ending feels a bit rushed to me. Especially since you have Kate wondering how Matthias died a split second before the end. As a reader I'm thinking where did that come from? I would like some history about that before you introduce it.

I think if you just give us a little back story about the statue and/or its creator this will be a perfect 5 star story. I enjoyed it very much anyway. I'm looking forward to your next one.
