![]() | REMEMBER ME GOOD FRIEND ![]() Triolet poetry, this type of poetry consist of only eight lines with rhyme scheme. ![]() |
![]() ![]() ![]() I like the poem. While some might see this person's words as those of greed, I see it as a way to remind people that if they make it, don't forget those who were down at the bottom with them. I think it stems from how one grows up and where, which I'll touch upon later. I like this Triolet, the recurring lines surprisingly don't sound repetitive to me, maybe because what follows always furthers the meaning of the poem. It has the tone of an older poem, from another time and another culture, maybe that of immigrants to a few country, and it is a simple moral for us all. It's short, but it is well written, has depth, meaning and a subtlety that shouldn't be over-looked. The last lines sort of acts like an echo, or better as a period to what he just said, it seems more like a warning, a reminder of where he came from and from whom. My only question is with the line, Now that grass is green at your pantry To me that seems like a mixed saying. It seems, instead of grass, it should be something that actually pertains to a pantry, like bread. "Now that bread fills your pantry." Well, you'd have to take into account the correct syllable count you need, of course. I see that you are brand spanking new to the Writing.com, I'm still a relative newcomer myself. Anyway, I want to welcome you to the site and if you need any help, just yell. If I can't answer your question, I can point you to a place that can. ![]() It is a good poem.
