Title: Fear

First Impression: I felt confused by this poem but somehow still enjoy reading it. I had to read it through a few times to get a grip on what it was trying to convey.
What I liked most: There is a great rhythm and use of rhyme, brilliant imagery (the seething pond), the use of the readers senses draws them in (smell of death transcending) and your use of language to create a sense of drowning darkness. My favourite lines are:
Look at never, ever felt,
Look at nowhere, ever seen,
Look at nothing, in the midnight
The repetition bangs away at you, driving the point home.
Suggestions: I can't find a way to improve this, I could suggest a bit more clarity but then that could just be me struggling. Not to mention I think the confusion adds to the attraction that this poem held over me. I made me think, made me really read it and work through it. This made it have all the more effect on me.
Conclusion: A great descriptive poem, it really paints a picture, not a pretty one but then it's not meant to. Your use of language is inspiring. Thank you for writing!
